The season of giving is upon us once again and what's a better way to raise food and funds than to have a friendly competition? We invite you and your neighborhood to participate in our Neighborhood Food and Fund Drive Challenge! 

Starting Thursday, November 1, 2018, area neighborhoods will compete to collect the most non-perishable food and funds and drop them off to us to be weighed and counted on Friday, December 14, 2018. We will then convert the poundage and the total dollar amount into number of meals. Please keep in mind:

• 1.2 lbs. = 1 meal
• $1.00 = 3 meals

Friday, December 14, 2018 is also TOPS Friendly Markets’ "Food for Families" campaign. The Neighborhood Food and Fund Challenge will be recognized throughout the day during “Food for Families” media coverage. In addition, all food and funds donated from the Neighborhood Food and Fund Drive Challenge will be included in the “Food for Families” grand total.  

The winner of the challenge will be announced at a media event in your neighborhood and will be given a banner for display.

This is the first year Food Bank of Central New York has added this fun event to our calendar. We hope you consider joining us in the challenge to help put warm meals on plates this holiday season!
