As president of Northland Communications, Jerry McCarthy was committed to helping and promoting local community organizations. In 2020, to honor Jerry, the McCarthy family planned 'Good Neighbor Day' to raise awareness and funds for local nonprofits on what would have been Jerry’s 89th birthday. Although the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the in-person event, the Good Neighbor program was formed, and local nonprofit organizations started meeting monthly to collaborate and support one another.

Northland Communications continues to support local nonprofits through the Good Neighbor program and is hosting the second annual Good Neighbor Day on Thursday, June 20, at NBT Bank Stadium. Food Bank of Central New York is proud to be joining other local area nonprofits to raise funds and awareness about our mission, which is where we need your help!
