Food Bank of Central New York operates a number of food assistance programs. Some of our programs have income restrictions and others are open to everyone. For more information about our programs, click on the links to the left.
For emergency food assistance:
Dial 211 from your cell phone or landline anywhere in Onondaga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, or St. Lawrence County for free help locating important resources. However, if you have trouble connecting you can dial an alternate toll-free number: 1-844-445-1922
The 24/7 hour hotline will assist in locating basic resources such as food, shelter, employment, or health care. The 211 system helps residents find resources by dialing a simple three-digit number.
SNAP (formerly Food Stamps)
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food at authorized retail food stores. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income and other factors.
