Wegmans will host their annual Check Out Hunger campaign to raise funds for Food Bank of Central New York. From Sunday, March 16 through Saturday, April 26, nine Wegmans in Central New York will accept donations at checkout lines in the stores. Shoppers will be able to donate $2, $3, $5 or any amount that they choose. The annual campaign provides shoppers with a fast and easy way to make a difference in the fight against hunger. Funds raised through the campaign will be used in support of the Food Bank’s hunger-relief mission.

“The simple act of shopping for groceries can provide hunger relief for thousands of families in Central and Northern New York this spring.  We are pleased to partner with Wegmans to offer this opportunity for the community to become involved in the fight against hunger,” stated Food Bank’s executive director, Kathleen Stress.

“Wegmans has been a supporter of the Food Bank of Central New York for many years. We host the Check Out Hunger Food Campaign as a demonstration our commitment to providing food to those in need in our community. This is also an opportunity for Wegmans to show the value we place on our company priority of “Making a Difference in Every Community We Serve,” Evelyn Carter from Wegmans said.
