PriceRite supermarket to make donation to Food Bank

PriceRite supermarket will celebrate their opening in Syracuse with a charitable donation to Food Bank of Central New York.  PriceRite will be presenting a donation of  $5,000 worth of food products and monies to the hunger relief organization on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  The event will take place at Food Bank’s distribution facility at 7066 Interstate Island Rd, Syracuse, NY 13209.

PriceRite, a discount supermarket chain with ten locations in New York State, is opening their first branch in Syracuse.  Kathy Freedman, spokesperson for PriceRite, explained the store’s excitement over the venture, saying, “PriceRite is proud to become a member of the Syracuse business community.  In addition to offering value and low prices everyday, PriceRite takes pride in their charitable work with a focus on the Fight Against Hunger.  In support of this, PriceRite is donating $5,000 of product and monies to the Food Bank of Central New York which will help feed the hungry in the greater Syracuse area.”

Kathleen Stress, Chief Operations Officer for Food Bank of Central New York, will be on hand Friday to accept the donation.  Stress, describing the impact of the donation, stated, “We at Food Bank of Central New York are excited about this support from a new member of the business community.  PriceRite’s willingness to address hunger in our community is an example of the type of partnership we rely on to continue the fight against hunger.” PriceRite’s Syracuse store is located at 1605 Erie Boulevard, and will be opening to the public at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
