Miles for Meals is a 5K fun run and walk to benefit the hunger-relief mission of Food Bank of Central New York.  The event, presented by Lockheed Martin, will be held on Saturday, May 31 at Onondaga Lake Park, beginning at the Saw Mill Creek Shelter. Everyone is welcome to participate in this healthy activity that will help raise funds to support the Food Bank’s nutritious food distribution.

Race participants that register before May 15 will receive a free t-shirt. Timing will be provided by Leone Timing with medals for the top 3 men and women. There is also a 12 and under division. In addition to the race activities, there will be raffles prizes and a food truck that will donate a portion of their day’s proceeds to the Food Bank.

“Activity and nutrition go hand in hand to promote wellness. What better way to enjoy the outdoors while making a difference in the lives of our hungry neighbors than joining in a fun run. We thank Lockheed Martin for allowing us to partner with them for Miles for Meals. One mile eliminates a child’s hungry belly, 3 miles helps feed a family of four,” shared Kathleen Stress, executive director Food Bank of CNY.

To register for Miles for Meals, participants can visit foodbankcny.org for a link or go to active.com and search for Miles for Meals. Registration is $35 per person with 100% of that fee going to support the Food Bank. Miles for Meals is presented by Lockheed Martin with media support from 93Q the Number One Hit Music Station.
