Lockheed Martin Employee Drive Benefits the Food Bank of Central New York New York

What: Lockheed Martin presents the Food Bank of Central New York with a load of nonperishable food items donated by employees as well as a monetary contribution.
Who: Lockheed Martin representatives will make the presentation to Kathleen Stress, Chief Operating Officer, and Lynn Hy, Director of Philanthropy for the Food Bank of Central New York.
When: Tuesday, May22, 2012, at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Lockheed Martin, 497 Electronics Parkway, Liverpool, outside of Building EP-5.
Opportunities: Lockheed Martin staff will be loading a Food Bank truck with more than 1,600 items donated by company employees. Lockheed Martin and its employee charitable giving organization, the Federated Fund, will also present a check to the nonprofit agency.
Background: Throughout the month of May, Lockheed Martin held a M.E.N.U. (Mission: Engage. Nourish. Unite.) food drive to support the Food Bank of CNY. Employees were invited to provide nonperishable food contributions or a monetary donation. This is the second annual M.E.N.U. drive.
Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education, and advocacy in cooperation with the community. The Food Bank serves as the primary food supplier for 2773emergency programs in 11 counties of New York State, distributing more than 11 million pounds of food annually. Established in 1985, the organization is considered one of the most efficient food banks in the country, using 94 cents of each dollar for program costs.
