The Walmart Foundation has announced that Food Bank of Central New York will be awarded a grant in the amount of $50,000 through the Associate Choice Program.  The giving program was created by the Walmart Foundation to benefit worthy charities while including associates of Sam’s Club and Walmart stores in the process.  Through a poll conducted by the stores, associates voted to award the grant to Food Bank of Central New York. The grant funds will assist in the acquisition and distribution of nutritious food to families and individuals in need throughout central and northern New York.

According to Food Bank’s Executive Director, Tom Slater, “We are very grateful to the Walmart Foundation for their support of our operations.  To have been awarded this grant through the Associate Choice Program, decided by people who live and work in our community, is especially rewarding.  This will help provide food for those who need it most.”
