Syracuse Crunch and Denny’s Raise $425 for Food Bank of Central New York
SYRACUSE, NY (2/1/2012) – Onondaga County War Memorial will be the site of a $425 check presentation by the Syracuse Crunch and Denny’s to Food Bank of Central New York on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Denny’s has committed a donation of $25 for every goal the Crunch scored at home during the month of January 2012.
“We thank Denny’s and the Syracuse Crunch for their support and generosity. The Crunch organization is an asset to the community, not only for their play on the ice, but for their commitment to helping individuals and families in need as well ”, said Thomas Slater, the Food Bank’s executive director, who will be on hand to accept the check during a pregame, on-ice ceremony.
Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education, and advocacy in cooperation with the community. Food Bank serves as the primary food supplier for 273 emergency food assistance programs in 11 counties of New York State, distributing 11, 550,177 pounds of food last year.
