Hofmann Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board Rusty Flook and Chief Relationships Officer Dennis DuVal personally delivered the hot dogs to the Food Bank and the Rescue Mission.

Flook said, “Hofmann Hot Dogs have been a part of the Central New York community since 1879.  This donation is just a small way for Hofmann to lend a hand to organizations that help individuals and families in need right here at home.”

DuVal added, “With the critical holiday season approaching, our donation of nearly 50,000 hot dogs also serves as challenge to other Central New York corporations and individuals to step up and help local charities in any way they can.”

The Oneida Indian Nation is lead investor in the Hofmann Sausage Company.  Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said, “The Oneida Nation has a long history of helping those in need.  We are pleased that our relationship with Hofmann Hot Dogs allows us to be a part of this wonderful donation to these worthy charities by celebrating the true spirit of Thanksgiving.”

Upon receiving the donation of 24,000 Hofmann Hot Dogs, Food Bank of Central New York Executive Director Tom Slater said, “Food Bank of Central New York is pleased to accept the generous donation from one of our corporate partners, Hofmann Hot Dogs.  Donations from local food manufacturers and distributors help us to continue to distribute essential food supplies throughout the emergency food network in our eleven county service area."

Rescue Mission Chief Executive Officer Alan Thornton said, “During National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Rescue Mission is grateful to Hofmann Hot Dogs for this generous donation of their great product. As we have seen our average daily meal count grow to 700, this donation of hot dogs could not have been more timely.”

The donation of 48,000 hot dogs to the Rescue Mission and Food Bank adds to recent Hofmann donations of 24,000 hot dogs each to the Food Bank of Western New York in Buffalo and Foodlink of Rochester.
