Garden Year Round with Food Bank of Central New York
One of the goals of Food Bank of CNY is to engage member programs and community members in educational opportunities and projects supporting community food security.
Members of Food Bank of CNY who do not currently have a garden, or would like to expand a current garden, now have an opportunity to receive a garden grant award. In 2015, there will be 10 awards available for either new gardens or existing gardens wishing to expand. The award includes $250 worth of reimbursement for a small container garden that your Food Bank member agency would be responsible for maintaining, sustaining, and growing for your program. With applications being accepted all year, this allows for spring, summer or fall garden installations. Food can be planted and grown all year long!
A maximum of ten member programs from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 will receive the award on a first come first serve system. It is a rolling application process which means there is no deadline to apply. Programs will have to meet the criteria outlined in the application and provide all the information to receive the award.
