Burn the Fat, Feed the Hungry

Personal Fitness Gym will be the site of the “Burn the Fat, Feed the Hungry” fundraiser for Food Bank of Central New York.  Randy Sabourin, owner of the gym, came up with the idea to incorporate charitable giving into his facility’s Spring Open House event.  On Saturday, April 21, 2012, the gym will be offering three hours of fitness classes and personal training to the public in exchange for a donation of $20.

Personal Fitness Gym, located at 205 South Salina Street in Syracuse, is running their annual Spring Open House during the week of April 16 through April 21st, and while the official “Burn the Fat, Feed the Hungry” event takes place on Saturday, they will be accepting donations for the Food Bank throughout the entire week.  Anyone interested in checking out the facility and speaking with staff is welcome to visit during the Open House, and the gym will be donating a percentage of all new member fees to the Food Bank as well.  The event serves the dual purpose of promoting fitness as part of a healthy lifestyle, and raising funds and awareness Food Bank of Central New York. As Sabourin puts it, “This is fitness with a purpose.”
