All you have to do is complete a simple, fast, and anonymous online application and you’ll receive immediate feedback concerning your eligibility. About Food Stamps The Food Stamp Program is not welfare! It is a Federal Program to help families and individuals, both working and unemployed to meet their food needs.
Food Stamps can be used at the following places:
- Supermarkets
- Small grocery stores
- Farmers’ market
Eligibility is based on income and resources in certain circumstances.
- Resources may be excluded for certain households.
- You can own a car or a house and still qualify !

WIC (Women Infants and Children) WIC is a federal program that provides food vouchers for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and non-breastfeeding women up to six months after delivery. Infants and children up to 5 years old are also eligible. WIC vouchers are used at participating local food stores for items such as milk, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal, and infant formula. Eligibility is based on income and Nutritional risk. Please check the eligiblitiy guidelines below. In Onondaga County you can apply for WIC by calling 435-3304.
School Meals Your school children may be eligible for free or reduced price school lunch and breakfast every school day in all public schools. All Onondaga County public Schools and many parochial school serve both breakfast and lunch. The meals are the same for all children, regardless of payment category.
